From Briauna, a student at Point Loma College, on summer project in Puerto Rico: During my last week in Puerto Rico, it was my prayer that the Lord would allow me to see someone dedicate their life to Christ. Other students on my team had seen some Puerto Ricans come to faith, but I had only heard about it. On that last Monday, a teammate and I talked to 2 sisters on campus who didn’t seem to believe in God. After talking with these girls for a little over 2 hours, they were so surprised at how different we seemed compared to many of the Christians they had come in contact with over their life. As we shared the Gospel with them, they sat on the edge of their seats, loving every word that we spoke. We invited them to come to our soccer outreach that night so that they could have time to think over things that we had talked about. That night, our leader presented the Gospel in front of over 40 Puerto Rican students that came. One of the sisters I had talked to earlier that day, Gabriela, was sitting next to me and as Joe (our leader) asked if anyone wanted to accept Christ into their life that night, Gabriela leaned over and whispered that she wanted to say yes, but she was afraid to stand up in front of everyone. So, as everyone dispersed, my teammate and I led Gabriela in a prayer to accept Christ into her life! The next day on campus we met with the two sisters again and the other one, Alejandra, also accepted Christ into her life! It was such a joy to be able to meet these girls and see the Holy Spirit so evidently at work in their lives and in mine as well.
